Prepworld are looking for a Production & Logistics Planner on a maternity cover fixed term contract for approx 1 year, to be responsible producing the daily production plans, the daily plan for all outgoing finished product, and all associated paperwork.

The Production & Logistics Planner is also responsible for undertaking all of the required production administration activities.

Main duties:

  • Completion of all relevant planning, logistics and administration activities are completed on a daily basis.  This includes playing an active part in carrying out these activities:
  • Producing all daily production plans accurately and on time – volumes, run rates, WIP etc – and provided to Production team
  • Producing daily outloading logistics accurately and on time – customer depot orders, pick sheets, ASNs and load manifests, ad distribute to Dispatch.
  • Booking of vehicles though online portals and producing loads plans and delivery notes.
  • Ensuring any shortages are communicated to the wider business appropriately
  • Ensure maximum utilisation of fruit within Production
  • Send weekly and daily staff requests to agencies as required
  • Authorisation of transport invoices
  • Keeping planning errors to a minimum
  • Plan and prioritise daily operations to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay
  • Determine manpower, equipment and raw materials needed to cover production demand
  • Address issues when they arise aiming for minimum disruption
  • Obtain, cllate and communicate output information (service level, staff numbers, waste, overpacks, WIP adherence etc.)
  • Liaising with 3rd party haulage cmpanies regarding collection times and traffic issues to ensure 100% service level is achieved.
  • Cmpletion of Customer Issue Log
  • Training Planning and Lgistics Administrators to conduct all activities to the required standard.
  • Cmpiling weekly data to support Sales Admin investigations of overs/shorts etc.
  • Maintaining recrds and archives to support audits.
  • Attending daily Prduction meetings – shift handover, 9am, Midday huddle
  • Cmpletion of dispatched pallet and dolly spreadsheets

Who we are looking for

  • Previous experience in a Food Production and/or Planning role  
  • Previous experience in a Food Manufacturing Company (highly advantageous)
  • Good communication skills in English (written, spoken and listening) (essential)
  • Teamwork, able to work and liaise with others to ensure team goals are successfully achieved (essential)
  • Intermediate Excel skills (essential)
  • Good numerical and literacy levels (essential)
  • Good IT and database/system skills (essential)

Days of work:  Sunday-Monday-Thursday-Friday (4 days per week, 44hr)

Hours: a week by week mix of 05.30am - 17:30pm and 07.30am - 19.30pm

Travel: if you intend on using public transport to commute to us, and live further than 10 miles from DA118HH, please note: Sundays transport is rarely available to get you here for the required shift start time. Your application may be rejected for this reason.

Salary: £28,000 - £31,000 p/a
